Good weather, good friends, (some) good golf, and a fine time was
had by all ... Here is the recap:
Play consisted of the regular Gruesome round, plus
closest to the pins on the par threes with prizes. There was also an 18-hole best
ball competition for prizes with pairings of captains - fourth picks and first picks -
third picks.
The captains were Alex Lively, Nick Greenberg, Ed
Ailor,
Dick Jones, Fred Comings, Chuck Dixon, Scott Alder, and Chris Hill. Also
participating were:

The team of Dixon, Tlanda, Immel, and Ladny took the lion's share of winnings ($71)
with 3 under on the front (tied with Jones, Ames, Webler, and Bowden), 51 points on the
back (tied Alder, Brunell, Busey, and Patch), 4 under for the 18 (tied with Comings,
Falcon, Lundgren, and White as well as Greenberg, McVey, Patterson SR, and
Munker) and had
two good birdies -- 2 and 9.
Greenberg & team collected $17 for with 52 points on the front (tied Jones &
team), 2 under on the back (tied Alder & team and Comings & team), 4 under for the
18 (tied Dixon & team and Comings & team), and a good birdie at 11.
Alder & team collected $7 with 2 under on the back (tied Comings & team), 51
points on the back (tied Dixon & team), and a good birdie at 15.
Comings & team won $1 with 2 under on the back (tied Alder & team and Greenberg
& team), 4 under for the 18 (tied Dixon & team and Greenberg & team), and a
good birdie at 3.
Jones & team lost $4 with 3 under on the front (tied Dixon & team) and 52
points on the front (tied Greenberg & team).
Hill, McCorkle, Karkos, and Hipp lost $20 with a good birdie at 13.
Ailor, JR, Madrid, and Leith as well as Lively, Camp, Wood, and Cline lost the max --
$36.
There were good birdies at 2 (Dixon), 3 (Comings), 9 (Dixon), 11 (Greenberg), 13
(Hill), and 15 (Alder).
Closest to the pins on the par threes went to Dixon (#10), Falcon (#8), Patterson SR
(#6), and Hipp (#17). Each pocketed $10.
Dixon and Ladny won the A+D best ball match with 2 under and McCorkle and Karkos won
the B+C best ball with 1 under. Each is $15 richer.
Jones and Bowden were second in the A+D best ball at 1 under and McVey and Patterson
were second in the B+C best ball at even. McVey and Patterson won over Falcon and Lundgren
who were also even by virtue of a par at 18, the #1 handicap hole.
I don't know if you all are aware of it, but Camp let on that everyone who played in
the "Feral" Open is forever guaranteed a place to stay at Myrtle Beach any time
he visits as well as all the free gold he wants to play. What a deal, eh?
